Restorative Yoga Class Sequence
There are many different types of yoga, but one of the most beneficial for the body is restorative yoga. This type of yoga is all about restoring and rejuvenating the body, and it can be a great way to relax and de-stress. If you’re looking for a sequence to follow in a restorative yoga class, here is a basic sequence to get you started:
1. Start by lying down on your back and closing your eyes.
2. Bring your awareness to your breath and take a few deep breaths in and out.
3. As you continue to breathe deeply, begin to relax your body one area at a time. Start with your forehead and work your way down to your toes.
4. Once you’ve relaxed your entire body, take a few more deep breaths and hold them for a few seconds each.
5. Once you’re finished, slowly roll onto your side and use your hands to help you up.
This is just a basic sequence to follow in a restorative yoga class. There are many different poses that can be used in a restorative class, so feel free to experiment and find what works best for you.
Ladder Flow Yoga Sequence
This yoga sequence is designed to help open and energize the body, preparing you for a more vigorous practice or just a day of activity. The sequence consists of a flow of basic yoga poses that are linked together using breath and movement.
The sequence begins with a Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), which is a series of 12 poses that warms up the body and mind. The next pose is Mountain Pose (Tadasana), which is a grounding and stabilizing pose that helps to focus the mind. From Mountain Pose, we flow into a Standing Forward Bend ( Uttanasana), which stretches the hamstrings and spine. Next is a Half Moon Pose ( Ardha Chandrasana), which strengthens and stretches the entire body. The sequence ends with a Relaxation Pose (Savasana), which allows the body and mind to rest and rejuvenate.
If you are new to yoga, I recommend practicing this sequence a few times before moving on to more challenging poses. Always listen to your body and never push yourself beyond your limits. Namaste.
