In our Vinyasa classes, students flow through a sequence of poses linked together by breath. In Hatha yoga classes, students hold poses for a longer period of time. Iyengar yoga is a form of Hatha yoga that emphasizes precision and alignment in the poses.

At Hot Yoga Bendy and the Breakdancer, we believe that yoga is for everyone. Our classes are designed for students of all levels, from beginner to experienced. Our instructors are skilled in adapting the poses to meet the needs of each student.

Hot Yoga Postures Explained

The following postures are some of the most popular yoga poses. They are great for beginners and experienced yogis alike.

mountain pose

Mountain pose is the foundation for all standing poses. It is a simple pose that strengthens and stretches the entire body. To do mountain pose, stand with your feet hip-width apart, parallel to each other. Point your toes straight ahead. Relax your shoulders and let them fall down your back. Engage your core and tuck your pelvis slightly under. Hold for 5-10 breaths.

Downward-facing dog is a great pose for stretching and strengthening the entire body. To do downward-facing dog, start in plank pose. Then, curl your toes under and press your hips up and back. Keep your shoulders down and your core engaged. Hold for 5-10 breaths.

warrior 1

Warrior 1 is a great pose for strengthening the legs and hips. To do warrior 1, stand with your feet hip-width apart. Turn your left foot out and your right foot in. Bend your left knee and hinge forward at your hips, keeping your back straight. Reach your arms straight out in front of you. Hold for 5-10 breaths. Then switch sides.

camel pose

Camel pose is a great pose for stretching the entire body. To do camel pose, kneel on the floor with your knees hip-width apart. Place your hands on your hips. arch your back and tuck your chin. Hold for 5-10 breaths.

bridge pose

Bridge pose is a great pose for stretching and strengthening the entire body. To do bridge pose, lie on your back with your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent. Place your hands on the floor by your sides. Press your feet and hands into the floor and lift your torso and hips off the floor. Hold for 5-10 breaths.
