: Core Strength

Hello friend!

Welcome to day eleven of the thirty-day yoga challenge! Today we will focus on core strength.

The core is critical for stability and strength in the body. It is responsible for maintaining balance and providing a solid foundation for movement. Strengthening the core can help improve posture, prevent back pain, and improve overall athletic performance.

There are many different exercises that can help strengthen the core. Today we will do a few simple poses that target the core muscles.

First, start in a basic seated position. Place your hands on your thighs and press your thighs together. Inhale and lengthen your spine. Exhale and twist to the right, using your core muscles to pull your right elbow towards your left knee. Hold for a few breaths, then switch sides.

Next, come into a basic standing position. Inhale and lengthen your spine. Exhale and fold forward, hinging at the hips. Bend your knees if needed. Reach your hands towards the floor, or if you can comfortably reach your toes, grab your toes. Hold for a few breaths, then come back to standing.

Finally, come into a forearm plank position. Inhale and lengthen your spine. Exhale and pull your navel towards your spine. Hold for a few breaths, then release.

These are just a few of the many poses that can help strengthen the core. Be sure to add them into your practice regularly to see the best results.

Namaste,

Adriene
