Beginner Yoga Positions

Beginner Yoga Positions

There are many yoga positions that can be done by a beginner. Here are a few basic positions to help you get started.

The Mountain Pose

This is the basic starting position for most yoga poses. To do the Mountain Pose, stand with your feet together and your arms at your sides. Engage your abdominal muscles to help you keep your balance. Hold this position for a few breaths.

The Downward Dog Pose

The Downward Dog Pose is a great way to stretch your hamstrings and calves. To do the pose, start in the Mountain Pose. Then, bend your knees and push your hips back, so that you are in the shape of an upside-down V. Your hands should be flat on the ground, with your fingers spread out. Hold this position for a few breaths.

The Child’s Pose

The Child’s Pose is a great way to relax your body and stretch your hips. To do the pose, start in the Downward Dog Pose. Then, lower your knees to the ground and sit back on your heels. Extend your arms out in front of you, and relax your head on the ground. Hold this pose for a few breaths.
